Local Events
Perfectly situated amongst centuries-old,
moss-draped live oak trees in the beautiful historic Lowcountry,
MCAS Beaufort and MCRD Parris Island, located in Beaufort, has much
to offer with many local events and attractions for the whole
family. Check out this list below to find out more:
A Taste of Beaufort: every
May, the Chamber hosts A Taste of Beaufort at Waterfront Park in
historic downtown Beaufort, a music, art, and food festival
featuring incredible cuisine from around the Lowcountry, live
music, an arts and crafts market, and of course the annual Crab
Crawl 5K.
The Beaufort Shrimp Festival:
this Lowcountry heritage event features local coastal cuisine, live
music, and more, with locals and visitors alike gathering every
October for a two-day celebration at the Henry C. Chambers
Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort.
Military Appreciation Day: the
Beaufort Regional Chamber is proud to host its annual Military
Appreciation Day. This event is to say “thank you” to the military
personnel and families who sacrifice so much for us every day. This
free event held in August at the Laurel Bay Welcome center features
food, drinks, music and games.
Beaufort Water Festival: once a year,
in mid-July, Beaufort becomes a gigantic stage for one of the
South's biggest outdoor events. The Beaufort Water Festival,
held in downtown Beaufort at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park,
includes events that take place in the water, in the air, and on
land.
MCAS Beaufort Air Show: held in late
April, showcases aviation at its best with demonstrations by the
United States Naval Flight Team, the Blue Angels.

Schools
Schools for the Air Station, Parris Island and
Naval Hospital include two DoDEA schools; Elliot Elementary and
Bolden Elementary/Middle school. Local secondary schools include
Battery Creek High and Beaufort Middle and High school.

Childcare
Child Development Centers (CDCs) are located on MCAS Beaufort and MCRD Parris Island provide safe, nurturing, and positive environments for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. Full-time and hourly care options are available, as well as a part-day enrichment program.

Marine Corps Air Stations (MCAS) Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, located in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry, is home of the Marine Corps' Atlantic Coast fixed-wing, fighter-attack aircraft assets and one of the United States Marine Corps training facilities for enlisted Marines. Situated among the United States most historically colorful installations, it is easy to see why so many enjoy calling Tri-Command home. Directions from MCAS Beaufort Main Gate to Leasing Office
- Drive through the gate down Geiger Blvd.
- Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Building, 1140 Geiger Blvd.
- Head northeast toward Malecon Dr.
- Turn left onto Malecon Dr. (1.5 mi)
- At the traffic circle, take the first exit and stay on Malecon Dr. (1.3 mi)
- Keep left at the fork and merge onto US-21/Parris Island Gateway (5.7 mi)
- Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto US-21 N/Trask Pkwy. (1.4 mi)
- Turn right onto Geiger Blvd.
- Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort Building, 1140 Geiger Blvd.
